Britsih diplomat. Miniter to Prussia (1813-1814), plenipotentiary to Châtillon (1814), Paris (1814), and Vienna (1814-1815), where he was ambassador 1814-1822; represented Britain at the Congress of Troppau in 1820 and Laybach in 1821; was at Verona with Wellington in 1822; half-brother of Robert, Second Marquis of Londonderry (Lord Castlereagh).
